Twitter Search: Tracking Archivists on Twitter
Twitter, the powerful and popular micro-blogging service, purchased Summize, a search engine that was tailored to search Twitter micro-blog posts (or in proper Twitter parlance, tweets).
The result is Twitter Search, a live search tool that both searches tweets and tracks and extrapolates trends based on the conversations taking place on Twitter. So, for example, last week, many people on Twitter were talking about Sarah Palin. As a result, Twitter Search determined that those words were trending and highlighted them on the home page. It's one way one can take the pulse of the Twitter world.
But back to search. Like Google, you can perform a basic search (or advanced search) on a keyword and, rather than receiving dated search results, you then see up to the minute results. Very cool.
You can also save a search as a RSS feed. Even more cool. So I saved a few searches with the words "Archives" and "Archivist OR Archivists" and added the resulting feed to arch.i.vi.us. You can now find the search results on the sidebar.
Be sure to check it out. And, if you are an archivist on Twitter, do not hesitate to make yourself known.

Thanks, Neal. Twitter Search is a supper feature whose potential, I believe, has yet to be fully tapped.

It was very interesting for me to read this post. Thanks for it. I like such themes and everything connected to them. I would like to read more on that blog soon.
